Once a coaching inn, providing respite for weary travelers and their horses, The Spread Eagle has evolved with the times while retaining its character and charm. Our beautiful late 18th or early 19th-century facade, complete with its distinctive arched carriageway, hints at the stories held within these walls.

Recently revitalized in 2025 under new ownership – the passionate team behind the renowned Galleon Restaurant – The Spread Eagle is excited to welcome you back.
